what courses should i take to run a small business?
i have recently been considering joining the family business we have three businesses but the one i am looking to manage is furniture imports for hotels and restaurants etc. i live on an island with a lot of tourism and this company is already taking off. we get the furniture from my uncle who is very used to this sort of thing but needs a contact here to deal with the management of staff and sales. i just need some insight in to which kind of courses will be beneficial an which ones will be a waste of money. thanks guys.

That is a very good question. I think the main courses that you would need to take is communcations. That way you are better at talking with people and communicating more effectively with people. Business Management courses also are good to take Other than that I don't really know what you would be doing so I can't really point out anything else right now. Try to make a list of what you do on the job, talk with people, take inventory, and etc. Then figure out which ones there are actually courses for and then figure out which one's you need to take a course in. The best experience in to run a business, is on the job experieince so that should be your first source of learning how to run the business. Ask if you can learn how to run the business. Also if you ever need help do not be afraid to ask for help. Hope this helps
